Pretty strange they are having stk/ss race, they did not want to host a CCRA race, basically the same thing..Love the track, except the fact there is no early turnoff, have to run the entire shut down to make the return road.

Galot is all concrete and the track is heated and cooled, really did an outstanding job rebuilding the facility.

Possibly the nicest track on the east coast!!! The pits are great with tons of electrical hook ups, hooking is not an issue at this place. If you have the opportunity to race at this track it’s worth a trip! Don’t let 1/8 mile racing turn you away, it’s worth the tow and you will not be disappointed.

We’ve been there twice and it’s a great place to race.

Galot is having a Carolina Muscle Cars Power and Shine car show that weekend and asked us if we thought a Stock and Super Stock combo would work, as they want to have some "on track" activity, not just the car show.
We said sure, there's no CCRA or NHRA D2 events that weekend, should be good. Assuming its a 6 round race (33-64 cars), the guaranteed payout is $2000 to win, $500 r/u, $300 semi. Third round loser gets $100, fourth round loser gets $200. $100 enrty. That deal is Saturday. On Friday there is a bottom bulb gamblers race (they're having a FB race on Saturday as well), so you can get some extra runs in and race before the combo if you want. I'm going to help them run the race, and I'm thinking we'll have 2 time runs on Saturday. My thoughts are to ladder off reaction times from TT #2 and keep that ladder for the whole race. Galot IS NOT trying to step on anyones toes. They just want to have some racing going on during the car show and a nice 40-50 car Stock/Super Stock combo seems like a perfect fit. |
