Default New Callies Hemi block

I see that Callies is casting a new "Mega" block both in a Hemi and a wedge. I was wondering if this block, which has a "p" casting number and is going to be sold under the revamped Direct Connection is being considered for use as a legal replacement block for S/SS use?

OE and Mopar's replacement blocks from the 90's are history, and if you find one people are trying to get stupid money for them. The idea of shelling out $10,000 for a used up almost 60 year old block is insane and is preventing a lot of people from fielding Hemi cars. I really want to build a AA/S out of a 1965 Plymouth I've kept for 30 years just for this purpose, but the block really is a roadblock so I hope this new block gets a look.

So I know that it was DC’s intent for these blocks to fill the S/SS void, however I’m not aware if the acceptance process has been completed as yet. Supposedly DC will also license Callies to issue a LA R-block as well!!!

There are several SS/AH cars running the Callies block. It has been approved

That's great news Ben, now hopefully it would also be legal for stock? I only ask because in the blueprint guides it lists the Bulldog and Koleno blocks, both vaporware, but nothing about the Callies. I'll do some more poking around to be sure before I spend $6500 on one.

Thank you for answering, appreciate it.

Thanks for the input Pete, I too thought the intention was to get a legal block available, and per Mr. Holt it looks like it is!

Don't quote me on this part, but I believe Callies owns the rights to the Bulldog version. So that would probably mean it's good for stock as well. But yes, I would do a little digging if I were you
