I would hope to think that every change is coming from the request of the racers not from our own agenda. Thats the reason if you have a request you should contact your committe person in your Division or any member in any division for that fact!

I can tell you all this. I've had a lot of requests from racers and every one I've discussed with other members on the committee or even NHRA people. Some of these requests have been good ideas, some simply self serving and some off the wall. One thing everyone needs to understand is that NHRA functions a lot like the government. It is a large bureaucracy that takes a long time to change. A lot of the things we are working on now probably won't be seen until next year, if then. One of the things I would like to see changed is a more streamlined process to make rule changes, especially relatively minor tech changes. I think we need to be patient and see how this thing plays out.

I hope the rulechanges are kept to a minimum, seen to many classes slowly die when racers get involved with the rules...

Greg, I couldn't agree more, but to you and to Woodro, I'd also like to see entry fees the same nationwide (such as Div. VII's being reduced to match that of the other divisions that currently charge $10-15 bucks less for divisional races (than our current and new to '08 $165.00), and even lesser amounts than the (EGADS!) $165 we're now being charged for national open races??? I'm curious as to why we're being charged the same fee for an open, when there's no points involved, and no contingency money similar to a divisional---the entry fees should be cheaper, or the races should mean the same...one or the other! Doesn't that make sense to any one else out there??? Well that's my .02 worth.

Greg,

I would like to propose to run heads up in practice rather than boring 3-4 time runs. If NHRA doesn't want the hassle, then couldn't we just all line up together for practice? If a guy doesn't really care about it, and just wants to work on his bracket racing, then line up and run anyway, nothing really changes. If there is no one in his class, then it is a heads up race against the index against the guy in the next lane. If NHRA doesn't want to fool with the dial in, then we do it on a 5 cent CPU(pencil) and a piece of paper for the winner.

I cant believe that everyone wants to run 3 or 4 practice runs over 2-3 days. How boring we have gotten in our old age? Let us take charge of our own fun, and quit waiting for everyone else to do it for us. Maybe it wouldn't work for National Events, but points races would be way more fun. Sponsors might even show up for it.

Yes! I've requested the same thing for D5. Haven't taken it to the Council though. Great idea.
