Why not do doubles at most points races. Wouldn't this benefit tracks and racers ?

I may be in the minority here, but as a self employed family man the double points races are really hard to do. Especially the ones that have started on Wednesdays. I know how much it makes sense for travel expenses and all the other pro's for the doubles.....but it's hard to take that much time off 4-5 times a year.

Doubles look great on paper for the track, competitors, and those needing couple good events for points. Willing to bet the staffing side becomes the challenge for Divisions and the Tracks.
Sometimes making 2 trips is less than the amount of money lost for the Blue-Collar competitors that still exist among all of us. |

I 100 percent agree with Ben on this. Doubles just don't work if you have a real job and or a family. St. Louis was an absolute marathon and honestly just not that much fun. It would be impossible for most to leave on a Tuesday several times a year to just attend points meets. I heard a rumor that D3 plans to have several doubles next year. If that is the case we will look at other options.

I really wish D1 would have points races back to back with the National Events in Epping and Virginia. That would save a lot of travel for those who religiously attend both races at each track. If not, have a double points race on the weekends they are scheduled. In 2020 when Virginia hosted a double, we had the highest car count of the year, besides Maple Grove, which is always our most attended race

2024 will be my first year running LODRS. When does the LODRS schedule and the national open schedule usually get posted?

From what I was told all schedules have to be submitted at Vegas this weekend and the LODRS schedules are normally announced the week of Pomona. The open schedules are normally a few weeks later. I know Norwalk has already announced their LODRS Date.
