I always wanted to know how to spell touche'. I am all for the diaper, I believe it is way better to keep your junk in a bag then on a plate.

Hi Rich,

I purchased a kevlar sportsman diaper from Dennis this year. It is a well constructed product that fit like a glove. I think it takes longer to get it out of the box than to install it on the car. It was WAY easier to install than changing the spark plugs!!!

Give a DRE diaper a try, you won't be sorry.

Thumbs up Re: Diaper DIscussion

In my opinion...having to have a certified diaper recertified is balogna....just rip the cert sticker off after 5 years and call it an approved diaper. I've yet to see a tech man check any of my diapers for anything other than maybe one actually being on the car. As for which diaper to buy...There are many out there that are good...I use J&J diapers...they just came out with an approved diaper for $120. I'll probably get booted or get some crap for saying this...but I'd have to think so many people on here support DRE because he's on here regularly and sponsors this site. I can't say anything bad about DRE...never used them...but I've been using J&J stuff for several years now and they work great.

Talking Re: Diaper DIscussion

Hi guys this is Dennis Ridgeway from DRE thanks for the support .Scotty I hope the support DRE gets is from our service and not because we sponsor this site.We have provided diapers to sportsman racers at a very good price and provided a quality diaper .We do not slam competitors, there is plenty of work for all of us.DRE supports many charities and sites, plus we give to about anyone that is doing a charity.I will agree with the recert, but I did not make the rules we just follow them.DRE provides custom diapers that has become a big part of our business Thanks again for the support and remember we are all in this together.

I bought the RCI universal fit SFI 7.2 diaper and it fits fine. I made the comment about wrestling with the diaper more from the standpoint of not ever having a diaper on any car I've ever raced before. It doesn't take long to attach it on my bb Chev. powered dragster. There is not a lot of room for any diaper, I don't care who makes it. My RCI has substantial side material. That thick material makes it a bit of a chore to get it positioned around the oil filter area and the starter on the other side.....Not a real big deal but certainly added work just to change your oil. I am not complaining as I am all for the added safety. I built another dragster after having had a Stocker for a year or two. I made it safer than my old dragster on purpose.......Longer wheelbase....2 completely seperate sets of brakes, inside the cockpit battery shutoff...and the SFI diaper.......I have had engine failures in my racing career and fortunately they never caused me to lose control of a car. Very close to tagging a guardrail once. Dragsters are fast and anything getting under a tire at 170 is going to be a real problem...The bellypan looked to be easier to install and do maintenance....and apparently falls a little short in the protection area. I'm happy with what I have.....
