I hopped in it and took it off jackstands to drive it around the block. Seems to have all 3 forward gears now! I'll get my broken trans torn apart soon and diagnosed. Would like to avoid a similar mishap in the future. If the weather holds out, I'll try to test on Sunday and make sure all is well!

Yep, Scot's a pretty good old turd. And you can tell him I said so.

Thomas Arnett in Kentucky should be able to hook you up with a good 200 Metric when you're ready. Have him set it up so that it accepts the same torque converter as a TH350.

Smile Re: Crap, th350 emergency

Hopefully this is the last time I have to post in this thread, I'm going to move the rest of my updates to my build thread. Took the car out to my local strip, Shadyside Dragway. It ran pretty much the same thing it did before the old tranny fragged. Managed an 8.02, 7.97, and an 8.01, which gets me comfortably under the index. Probably good for .25-.30 under in the quarter I would imagine. Also hit the tree decent, best I have since I got the car. .032, .008, and .023. Pretty happy with that, hoping to keep it rolling into bby gators this week. Only thing that really concerns me is the middle run where it picked up .05 out of nowhere. I really didn't change anything between the 3 runs other than cooling the water temp an extra 10 degrees or so and going up from 20.5 psi to 23 in the rear tires. Don't love that inconsistency but happy for the speed. It's going to take time and lots of notes before I really get the car predictable and all, but that's nothing new to me. My Mazda is pretty finicky too, but I managed a national event win in it last year, so I think I can get this new car under control before the end of the year. Thanks all for the help! And I'll look the fella up maybe end of this year, Alan R.

Keep up the good work kid!
Ya know, youth and vigor CAN beat old age and cunning! You've just got to catch the old men when they're taking their afternoon nap!
