I back to back to back to back. M/T and Hoosers on my Drag Pak. I found the M/T were a bit quicker.... However, the burnout had to be perfect and starting line placement (no thin rubber spots) seemed to be important to the M/T.... The Hoosers were much more forgiving. And when you screw up as much as I do, in my old age, the Hooser is a better choice. But, my guest is, that's why the M/T seem to be the choice of the shoot out cars that are looking for every last little bit of ET, and it also bites them in the butt occasionally when the tracks going away.

Kevin, until, if the day he ever decides to run stock eliminator, he should run a 10” Hoosier slick and he shouldn’t waste his time with anyone’s suspension parts and just get Alf Weibe’s suspension and Afco DA shocks. He also needs the equivalent of Moog’s 5392 iirc front coil springs with Afco BNC DA shocks.

I haven’t spoken to Alf in many years but as far as I know he’s retired. That said, his suspension comes up for sale on occasion and there’s a guy that copied it years ago that made some kits.

I have run Hoosier 9x30 and 30x10.5 radials . The Goodyear and Hoosier are quicker than the PBR , weigh about 10lbs lighter . PBR gives me the most life 160-180 passes bracket racing not on radial prepped tracks .PBR is also most forgiving . And if maybe going Stock make sure you can get a 30"tyre in there . Tex |

The Dumbo car goes 1.24 in 60 ‘ with the Goodyear radials. 3400 lbs car with close to 600ft/lbs torque. No two step just foot brake. I did have some trouble last year due to shock lack of maintenance. My bad !!

I ran radial slicks on my 3880 lb. footbrake launched chevelle for 10 years that 60 footed a best of 1.28. There is no 9” radial tire going 160+ passes on a 3800+ lb. car going 1.30s in 60 foots
Say what ! 1320 you arent stupid but you certainly didnt read what I said . My prefered tyre is the PBR 29.5x10.5 which goes 160-180 . I noted this was more than the others I had run , so no I cant get that many passes from a Hoosier . Never wore GY out due to multiple punctures in one tyre at a meeting . And yes we have all seen your Chevelle links . Yes it was good but no better than many others . Sorry to OP for the sidetrack . Tex |
