Ice bags should be legal, when you pick them up wipe any water up with a towel. Can you still pack the intake with ice or no as long as it is in a zip lock bag?

I think this is ok. You just have to remove them before you leave the staging lanes to race. No water drips on the track or you are out.

I think we should all agree that after leaving your pit spot no one raises their hood until fuel check.

Wouldn`t it be great if NHRA allowed all the class car that are not allowed to tow to the staging lanes, pit close to those staging lanes, so they don`t get their engines too warm, and let the classes that are allowed to tow to the staging lanes, pit further away, since engine heat is not a concern? Common sense, I know, and unlikely to ever happen, but when you have to drive, thru the crowded pits from 1/2 mile away, and not allowed to cool the engine, certainly can put such vehicles at a performance disadvantage, especially in the case of a heads up race. Of course, I really doubt that NHRA officials would ever want the spectators to have to walk past a bunch of lowly Sportsman cars to get to the "PRO" pits, so they can get some autographs of the Nitro stars.

The Pro pits bring in the spectators. No Pro show, NO INDY, NO NHRA.....

ok I "think" that the sportsman brings more money to NHRA. The membership fees, the entry fees, the advertising by manufacturers that cater to the sportsmen who buy the parts, etc., and I suspect just maybe now NHRA gets paid for TV rights, as well as if there were no sportsmen in the pits. They would look like nothing is happening for the"event" or 'Show." The fans would walk around and say where are all the race cars? Could you get my point now? I just bet if we ask the NHRA accountants about the sportsman impact that they bring approximately 3 million per year, they would be happy to receive the income

Never suggested there should be no "Pro" cars, but do they have to be right next to the staging lanes, considering that they are all towed up to the staging lanes, and towed back to the pits? Does it really matter where the Pros park? The hero card and autograph collecting spectators will go to wherever the pros park.
