John,
For years I have put thrust pressure oiling on engines that use a 2 step or Trans brake.
It is a simple modification to the bearing.
Upper thrust bearing only or the block side
side of bearing opposite the notch
rear half of this bearing to the rear of the oil channel
increase the parting line slightly by chamfering(.060)

It will allow some additional oil from the bearing's oil channel to trickle into the back thrust area under pressure.
