That is Reynolds you are thinking about. SGMP usually had great traction and can?t remember any bug issues there. Here in d2 we race in the heat during the summer months. No big deal. We. Re real happy to get the Sportsnational race down here.

SGMP is super nice. Great parking everywhere with lots of asphalt and if it fills up the rest is nice grass. Good staging lanes and grandstands as well. Home of Lights Out and No Mercy, the place is known for its superior track surface and ability to hold enormous races.

See below lots and lots of asphalt parking along with ample grass surrounding the shutdown area and behind the starting line.

SGMP is a nice facility, traction is great, plenty of asphalt & the grass areas are pretty good. It's too bad a well attended event with class eliminations moved 800 miles away. NTR was fairly central to the Midwest and certainly div 3 car counts alone are always strong. Stock has had a 128 car field every year since the event came back.

I understand it had to be a challenge to find a place to move it considering every track's schedule has long been complete, but... geez.

I know I & my gang of 5-6 other misfits won't be going.

There is quite a bit of paved pit area. Get here early if you want a good spot. They have some spots with power there too if you don?t want to run a generator. Cost a few extra bucks for that. One of the better tracks for pit area.

I was at PRI and sat in on the Track Operators round table they had and let me tell you if SGMP doesn't have a National Event in the next 2-3 years it will be surprising, Raul the owner is committed to that track and making it the best there is, I know he's been getting some push back from the city for noise and that might be the hold up but with them doing that Peach Speed Deal in Oct with TF, FC and PS, I think this is just the tip of them getting a National.

SGMP is a nice facility but is not ready for a national event at this point. There is not much spectator parking. and probably not a big enough pit area for a full national event. They might have enough raw land to make it happen with some upgrades. if they did have and I hope they do get a national event there it would have a low quota due to the limited size at this time. Its perfect for a divisional race right now.

Thats odd, they list the SPORTSnationals with a double event but the double at SGMP is scheduled for the end of May?? Or are they running a single division race plus the SPORTSnationals? That would mean 3 races in 4 days!
