Jeff, Is one going to you? When I think of Mopar guys, your name comes up first. What will your dealership sell a regular Challenger for? I have heard about $20K markups around here. Man. I love that body style! Thanks. Jeff Goss SS/MA 6990 |

We plan on three Challengers. One each for my sons and one for Lil Joe. They will be race cars. We got seven of the production SRT 2008 Challengers. They are all sold. We sold them for window sticker. We refused some offers from brokers & stuff. We already have 2009 Challengers schduled. Some 6.1, some 5.7, manual, auto, asssorted colors. The unknown is if the 392 CID, 600 hp street legal motor will be used in any of them. As far as that 10K to 20K over sticker, in a small town that cost you more in the long run. One of the new Challengeres we are selling is going to a customer who is bringing it to Comp Cams for a complete redo which will be in several magazines. That customer has a black one coming, his dad has a black 300 SRT, and his brother has a black Charger SRT. Should make a nice package.

These cars will not be worth as much unless someone takes one and races it. They will not be street legal, so who will want one unless there is some history behind it. Back in the 60's The CJ Mustangs and Hemi Darts were RACED, no put away by some collector looking to make money in 20 years. Kinda like collecting historical firearms, a wartime German marked Browning High Power is worth more than a postwar made one. Beacuse of where and how is was used. If these cars do not get raced, they will not be worth as much. Just my 2 cents

Now, with all that said, that doesn't mean a car with no race history will be more valuble down the road than it's show pony counterpart, but I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that *if* collectors/speculators can get their hands on them, they will...and the cars will sit...and that means fewer to go around for actual racers, and if dealers smell even a hint of shortage then you can expect a price hike. I can see it now...FoMoCo rolls the very first S/S Mustang across the stage @ Barrett-Jackson, Steve Pratt bids a gazillion dollars for it, and wham-o, that's one less car for the racers...only 49 more to go!
