For those of you who were not in attendance and seem to know everything that went on, let me take this opportunity to clarify "what really occurred."

The weather was uncooperative Friday and Saturday evening and the Pro night time qualifying sessions was wiped out on both evenings. Sunday was even worse as it rained 4 times, the last time 10 pm Sunday as IHRA had all the remaining cars in the staging lanes and a sprinkling of rain pushed the final champs from being crowned until Noon on Monday.

Creasy's unfortunate track incident (the transmission turned completely around throwing sharpnel into both of Creasy's legs) forced IHRA to bring a medivac helicopter in at the top end shutdown area late Sunday which interupted the program for almost 2 hours.

One sole Pro Stock car showed up from Michigan, Bob Bertsch. Good on you Bob and team!

The track was packed with a full compliment of ET cars 128 plus

Well over 40 Top Sportsman and Top Dragster entries (but IHRA continues to run them in a Quick 16 b*llsh*t manner, why I don't know as Castrol Raceway has developed a very stout Top Eliminator class with well over 35 members)

16 Pro Nostalgia entries (another class that doesn't even exist but seems to get better billing than the Pro Mods) were present on the grounds.

Stock/ Super Stock/ and the rod classes continue to draw low numbers but when people owning class cars refuse to participate for reasons that took place 3-4 years ago, it is truly a shame. Get you head out of the sand and move on!

I have endured some tough years in the "mud" at this event and with all of the parking fiascos (arrive two days prior to the event to get inside the pit gates) have managed to support this event for all of the 5 years the event has been contested.

It's our only event in Western Canada of this stature other than the NHRA Mission Divisional and we must support it or we will have nothing to support!

Regards,
