Red face Re: Full face helmet clarification please

Earlier in the year I read that if your class is required to have the 9.99 or quicker NHRA COMPETITION LICENSE you would be required to have a Full Face Helmet.

Can Anyone clarify? Please

Craig,

Did you have to submit a physical and take a drivers test etc, to get your liscense?

Thanks,

You must have your physical in hand to make passes to get your license. If you are over 55 you must have an EKG.

Mike,

Yes on both. I showed up at the points race in Cecil, Georgia with a physical in hand and had to make 6 passes, gradually faster & faster at the Thursday test session. Once a couple of licensed racers signed off on me, NHRA Tech removed the 10 flat restriction for the race and I was officially licensed.

We were told by a Division 1 tech that the full face helmet was required but the SS license requirements were not in play for Stock.

Bruce,
Well, I guess I'll be legal for sure when Stock is combined with Super Stock. By the way, how's the Corvette coming?

Wesley told me in Houston if you run 9.99 or quicker he would give a friendly reminder to show up at the next race with a full face helmet.
