I would think that VP makes alot more money selling gas to the sportsman guys than they do selling nitro to the pros. I dont know about you but I dont like storing gas in my shop or hauling larger quantities in my trailer. I would rather buy what I need at the track for each event. That way you know its fresh and will pass fuel check.

I would say 700 a barrel on NITRO selling over 100 barrels a race isnt bad. Me a small track operator in NC just bought a drum of NITRO for 1300. Im not John Force, Kalita or even Denshem. I needed two drums for a nitro harley guy and got it at that price. I didnt buy a boat load or a container load. WHY IS IT SO MUCH when the NHRA national event price is 700.00 more than i can buy it for. And if there is such a shortage why and I even able to buy it. just my .02

You must have misunderstood what I meant about buying fuel at the track. I have never gotten bad fuel off the VP truck at a divisional or National event. NHRA that is. If you are buying fuel from the tanks at the track you dont know what you are buying. If the fuel has been tampered with it will not pass fuel check. I personaly have never failed fuel check using VP fuel purchased from VP at the track. I use C-11 the shelf life seem to be real good even stored in plastic containers. I usuall dont have more than a couple of gallons in the jug though. Mike

We got bounced after a first round win at St. Louis two years ago. Just bought it off the VP truck. Comp A/ND(methanol) So now we check all fuel before it goes in the tank.

It all depends on the dealer on site.
One of the Divisions out west has some problems there with contract sales. Just My 2 Cents |
