Default Re: Looking for BBC intake suggestions

You can run the Crane roller rockers with a Super Stock roller cam but you need to change to the very high quality ARP rocker studs. There are several different ones offered but only one will last. They are sold in packages of 8 and have a longer shank that goes into the head. These may need to be trimmed to keep from bottoming out in the port roof. Use a good stud girdle and it will work fine. I have run this setup on Super Stock engines over 8000 rpm with no problems. Make sure you have plenty of spring pressure 350 to start and 300 minimum. Also make sure the pushrods are up to the task. Minimum .120 wall 3/8 dia. Otherwise flex will wreak havoc on your valvetrain.

You may want to look at opening up the LSA to 110 or 112 to make more top end power and take a little out of the bottom end. A 1 or 2 inch Wilson spacer will help too.

Good Luck!
