I can't imagine why it wouldn't be in the Guide, as many thousnds were sold; it was an option on virtually ANY V8 sedan from '57 through '61 (but, not Corvettes.) I saw several 348-powered cars that had 4.56 gears and Atlas Bucrons run some pretty impresssive e.t.'s with Turboglides, but the small-blocks didn't seem to like it as well. Probably had everything to do with being held down to that 3,500 rpm stall speed until second gear played out. Not a lot of HP available at that rpm from a 283. I

bill,
bruce took my information and promised to review everything and let me know as soon as possible it was a very nice and short meeting, they were busy with the indy duties. i cannot see them saying no, over 90,000 were made and offered behind 283 & 348 i really dont want a turboglide guys it is a giant slushbox that outweighs a iron glide !!! now a turbo 350 or 200... yeah ill take one of those ![]() captain jack

Thanks for the reply! That sounds like good news to me. Guess we'll just have to wait and see, and I hope it's not very long. I hope you're able to put a metric 200 behind that 283. I think it will really liven things up, especially, for the first 60 feet! I wish you the BEST of luck with this; you have lots of friends pullin' for you.!!!! Bll
