Stock Eliminator is NOT a class for everyone, and not everyone will be successful.

Thats kinda getting away from what the grass roots of stock and super stock are all about. YES its a production vehicle but opening up this door is going to split the flood gate. If they had any brains they would think of a new class and invite the big three (GM/Ford/Mopar) and have match races. Kinda like how ihra had Top Stock but call it something else like Factory Supercar Showdown. It will draw a crowd and we all know there will be mid to high 8 second potential. Just dont mix it into stock and superstock and poison the prestege that the hero's of yesteryear have made. Dick Landy will turn in his grave if he knew there was going to be a power adder allowed in super stock. Haha...they probably still wont run with a SS/AH car.

I heard this was coming. I suggested a carb motor be considered. If it takes 3 years or more to level the field of Carb /Injected factoring will Supercharged versus carb versus turbo ever be fixed. I think NHRA should limit the Motor to carb models. or Injected but not open the way to these cars. One think you can count on is confusion and Bi###ing from all sides. Great Idea to reenter racing BUT.......

How can you discourage this, we are entering 2009 that is the technology that we should be racing with. Stock and super stock are not nostalgic classes. The big three are in trouble and for them to want to get back into class racing means a lot, at least to me. Racing a current car with current power is in the best interest of the OEM, is it not??? I’m quite sure back in the late 60,s and early 70,s when the muscle car wars were going on they were not running 1940 and 50 engines. This kind of action should bring back excitement to S/SS, giving fans the true potential of the car they have in their driveway.

I don't have a problem with new cars and the manufacturers coming in to Stock Eliminator. I think it is a GOOD thing. And fuel injection is fine, too.
It looks like the "Roushcharger" ![]() ![]() We don't run Super Stock, you'll have to get your opinion on their running Super Stock from Super Stock racers. By the way, that supercharger looks pretty damned efficient, you might be surprised what it will do (think PSI). And given that Eaton says their big one will feed "large displacement V engines", I'd imagine it will really feed a 4.6L V8, Roush is putting the biggest one on their cars, according to their website. I'll leave it up to someone else to figure out how well that's going to work in Stock and Super Stock. Here's a link to the Eaton TVS web page: http://www.eaton.com/EatonCom/Produc...iteId=EatonCom

John Kelley asked: "And WHAT associations would that be ???? "
One such association is the "National Auto Sport Assn." (NASA) For a discussion of that ruling, check out http://tinyurl.com/62uvxs[/ There is another racing series that is exclusively Subaru turbocharged cars that also has mandatory telltale boost gauges, but I can't remember what that series is called. But, both organizations require them. Why do you ask?
