Herb,
I hope you don't mind if I reply. I have been officially declared Division 2, for the past 2 years, but I raced Rockingham, Mooresville, and Farmington this past season. I would have come to Piedmont last year, but it was our Anniversary and the weather was hot! We went to the North Georgia Mountains instead. Everyone has a different opinion, but I like the doubles. That is one of the reasons I went to Div. 2. I looked over our racing budget, and we spend the most money getting to the races. I think the 2 races in 1 weekend is a savings! If I break my car on Saturday during the points race, I don't have the entry for Sunday tied up, because I initally only pay entry for the first race. After I loose in the first race, I pay for the second race. At the single event Divison 9 races, I sometimes enter the Saturday night bracket races or combos, and it has bit me. Two years ago, I broke my rearend 3rd round bracket race at Piedmont and I was already qualified so Scott Macy got a single 1st round. I like the doubles, because I like to race and not sit around waiting to race. Also, predicting a dial in is easier if you made a run 2 hours ago, rather than yesterday. My family and I were talking just this week about how usually every weekend in March-April is usually a race weekend. We've bought a boat, and March is suppose to be good fishing weather. I enjoy the fishing, but getting a "W" on my side in drag racing is still more exciting to me than a big fish, although more costly. I also agree with Emily, and now I have a daughter in school to be concerned with missing school. It seems we race every weekend in the early spring, and then sit at home during the summer. The heat and humidity of July and August is not pleasant in the Carolinas, so perhaps have an "evening" race? However, I know there are curfews to deal with. These are just some of my thoughts and opinions. I eagerly wait for the racing schedule and plan my vacation days.

Herb, I hope you don't mind me replying. My car should be done over the winter and I will probably claim Div. 9 as my home division. I looked at next years calendar and just made a possible schedule. I know that the National event schedule is not out yet so this could be very flexible.
March 14-15 Rockingham April 11-12 Farmington ( I'm not sure when Easter is next year, it didn't show up on this calendar.) June 6-7 Mooresville Sept12-13 Piedmont Oct 3-4 Kinston I also am in favor of the double headers. If the economy doesn't get any better they make it much easier. Two races and less fuel. This spreads the season out a little more so if someone hurts a motor, trans, etc. they will have time to get it fixed. This also leaves most of June, all of July and August open for family vacations for those people that take them. Just my 02. Thanks, Mike Mike Galuk JOE COOL RACING |

I would like to see them spread out more and be doubles. As Michael said, if your car breaks, you have some time to get it fixed, and the doubles make financial sense.

Dont forget we have Atlanta National 3rd week of April and the VA Division one race the week after. The purposed date for Rockingham is the same week as VA. So SS and Stock guys two races two hours apart on the same weekend.

I think div 9 should have more double races like the other divisions what's fair for them should be fair for us, and try to get away from nhra dates if possible.

Division 9: You have to go to five racetracks on five different weekends to get in five races.
Division 2: You go to three tracks on three different weekends and get in six races. You do the math. And three weekends of racing in five weekends (during the month of March), that's tough.

And why wasn't Darlington also a Div 9 race like it was last year?
That was a good deal.
