I look through this site and saw a couple of pictures of the Marv Ripes 57 Chevy Wagon. I delivered the wagon to a body shop in Carnegie Pa at the end of April in 1973. These picture were taken after Marv sold the car. I would say they were take at Pittsburg Internatinal Raceway. There are eight other pictures of the wagon on Fotki the Bill Trury Collection. In one of the picture the name Bob Arnold is on the left fender. He was either the owner or the driver.

Tom P..........I was curious about that as well. Bob says it isn't him..........cool car though and has got to be pretty rare in that configuration.........never seen one of those. Curious how fast they could get them to go as a stocker, and thanks for the photos........gotta love them tri-5's.

Here's Parham and Payne's '57 supercharged 312 Stocker at the '67 World Finals in Tulsa.
I think it might have been the record holder at that time; I know irt was at least once. Mid-13's... not bad for a heavy 4-door hrdtop.with an Fordomatic... I miss the huge variety of cars that Stock Eliminator enjoyed back then. You never knew what was going to show up, from blown Studebaker Larks to Dynaflow Buick convertibles.... not just a sea of Camaros (not to disparage the Camaros; they're GREAT race cars; that's why there's so many of them.) I just miss the variety... sigh....
