Woodro, NHRA is missing out on the opportunity to have direct contact with their customers by ignoring the stated purpose of the SRAC itself. I haven't had dealings with all SRAC members, but you and Greg Hill are among those that have the experience and intentions to better the sportsman racing experience. It is clear that there is a tremendous desire to support class racing in difficult times by the racers themselves. I guess if NHRA has not the vision to see value in experience, we should all be looking toward organizing more local efforts like Heartland, etc. to support our local tracks. All the VPs in Glendora will have to get some jobs elsewhere if they continue to ignore the racers that would race if they were given any support at all. Thanks Woodro.

Woodro thank you for all you did. Also sorry to hear but sometime what the mass wants is not what the "higher-ups" want to hear! No 1 in the pits will look down their noses @ you that's for sure!

To all of my division 3 racers I wanted to let you know I also have resigned from the SRAC for the same reasons as Woodro. It basically was a waste of time and energy because at the end of the day we had no say in what happened. When one person can decide what the rules should be, how they are enforced and when they are enforced there is no reason for an organization like the SRAC. I do want to say that Bob Lang and Jay Hulinger were good to work with however others In NHRA did not have the best interest of racers at heart. I also enjoyed the time this past year talking to a lot of racers and trying top help them with issues they felt were important.

I truly believe nothing is ever going to change at NHRA until two things happen. First is true racer input and second is transparency in the rules making process. Thanks again to all my friends and racers who were supportive during the past year.

Greg

Question Re: Srac

Man, I hate to hear this. It is a real set back for sportsman's hopes. Just proves that those in the ivory towers don't give a crap about the backbone of the sport/hobby. Making us think we had some imput, they were just giving us lip service.

NHRA is just a big production company now, not a racer's association, with concerns only about TV rights, series sponsors, and BS shows to entertain the spectators.

I see the direction class racing is heading is toward regional ,non-association sanctioned, series where the racers are the show. Not just the fillers for, between the rounds, of the show.

Problems I see with that are; rules enforcement and when cars of the same class run off a dial-in rather than heads-up. That defeats the whole purpose of class racing.

So, where does that leave us?

Woodro, Thank you for your effort. Do not give up the effort with the sportsman racing though. I believe there will be a continued place for TOP/STK and Jr./Stk. This is our inside out effort of recreating heads up sportsman racing and hopefully it will be recognized and picked up by a sponsor or NHRA as if "they" had the idea. Who cares if it works to expand its availability to the racers and the spectators.
Thanks too to GP HILL. Help find sponsors for next years racing of TOP/STK and Jr/STK and we can move ahead MORE>
See you guys soon....

Mr. Hill, thanks to you as well. I'm sure you made as great an effort as Woodro did. At least you guys were there, you tried, and some heard our voices through your efforts.

I started to write a fairly long post about this...............but thought better of it.

I'll just say Many Thanks to Woodro and Greg for having the integrity not to be a part of the problem. I know you both had the best intentions when you accepted your elected positions and gave your time unselfishly to help to keep the sport we love alive and well.

Maybe this should tell NHRA that racers are willing to work on problems, but are not willing to just waste time.

Thank you for trying.

Thanks Guys, the attaboys mean a lot to me and to Greg also. Yes, he and i worked very hard on some issues only to get a slap on the wrist, so after a few times, it begins to hurt.
But do want to say thanks to each and everyone of you guys, you were the reason we were trying so hard to have a voice.
