"Live From" Virginia Motorsports Park DIV 1-1

Hello all, I'm here at D1's first division race of the year. Today there is a test and tune starting around 12:30. The weather is a little bit on the cool side, about 60 with a stiff head wind, 12-16 mph.

There were a few cars out getting ready to test today, but overall the turnout is light so far. Rigs are coming though and there should be a good turn out. We are supposed to get some rain Saturday night and a chance of rain Sunday morning, hopefully we can get it all in.

Mike Ficcaci brought his 68 small block Corvette this weekend, the car looks great, I think he will be running E/SA this weekend. I will be in Anthony Bogiovanni's 14 Cobra Jet, FS/E. This guy is amazing, anytime I need a ride, he is there for me.

Kind of a dismal forecast but since it was scheduled to be complete on Saturday perhaps you have Sunday as a "flex" day....hope it goes well, look forward to seeing pics and results of the D1 hordes...your car counts always amaze me. Hopefully you'll even have a good Comp turnout. Love Comp and the counts thus far this year have been disappointing, a whopping 9 Comp cars at Houston this weekend.

Hey James, no worries, if you have time that's great. More important, have fun this weekend.

Test and tune is just about done. Nothing special to report, except for the wind. most of the day it was 12-16mph with 20mph gusts. Still a light turnout, but tomorrow should be better. The weather will be a little warmer tomorrow, but the winds will be the same.

Man now I'm Jealous... Couldn't make it this year (garage sale duty) We'll Hopefully be there next year... If I can get my dad up.. it was aa struggle just to get him to ATCO haha.

Well I rolled in at 10:05 and was parked at the gate for the night. They are very prompt on their cut off time at VMP nowadays. Should've been here a lot sooner but I didn't allow enough time travelling with my circus.

Uh oh, second weekend on the job and I'm late! I had some work to do today but will head up later this afternoon.
I'm glad Ken is going to be there so he can pick up my slack because I will be pulling double duty this weekend. Not racing, but for the first time in a while my wife has decided she wants to go and bring our 2 girls of course. So I will be a busy man!
It's a short trip for us at only about 3 hours and she has been known to drop some dollars in the Petersburg area shopping malls before, that might actually be the real reason she's going.
Everything is loaded so we'll be on the road doo.
