Doyle,
I've just been lucky to have people trust me with their pictures and allowing me to share them with you guys. I use to watch George and Garley go at it on a regular basis at Kinston and George had the advantage until Garley decided to move from B/SM to C/SM. Things changed then! ![]() Bob R |

Ronnie Smith D/MP production 55 Chevy. It was some fine racing in that other time. Just wondering if any of the older guys remember this car. These cars aren,t around anymore but what a ride, going consistent 11.90,s with a four speed, quite the task even for the best of drivers. In the days when it was so much fun and the little guy could be up top sometimes. This 55 set the mph record at Amarillo Dragway September 7,1969 -120.46 mph. I only helped with the car but i never realized those days were the best drag racing of this lifetime.Yellow light with the back tires already turning..A lot of those 4 speed guys could do it day in and day out..my hats off to all the guys from the old days that had to wrestle and herd their cars to the end of the track, It was some fine racing, still is if you have one of these cars...lol
