Our 68 Camaro, we bought it in March of 72 ,just so I could run INDY Nationals before I lost my other leg. Thank 'GOD' that didn't happen. I was class r/u at the 74 Sportsnations [lost to Felker]& the 74 Springnts[ Lost to Carl Holbrook] We ran it in SS/HA till after the 75 Winternationals, when Bill Felker who was buillding our engines said " Why don't you get a 69 body & I'll run SS/ga and you run SS/ha with the 69. So we took the drive train out of the 68 & put it in a 69 body we bought.
So we did, I put the 68 in the back of our garage till June of 06 when our son Tony restored it for us . We now go to cruise in with it 396-325, right intake & heads, plus the " Hooker headers we ran in 72... |

My buddie Bill Eadelis bought his 1970 GTO brand new off the showroom floor. It was a street/strip car til about 1974. Been strictly a drag car since then, now running SS/IA. The odometer shows 9,903 miles.

I have also owned my 68 Z/28 Camaro since day one. It was a stock eliminator car for about ten years. The current engine is in stock eliminator trim. I mainly race it at the Hod Rod Magazine Drag Week. To do this, I had to put in a T56 to drive from track to track with 5.57 gears.

I purchased my 1965 Chevy Impala in July, 1969. While I was in Viet Nam my mother drove my brother and sister to school in it and when I got out of the army I drove it in Pure Stock from 1970 until the summer of 1972. Then I pulled the car off the street and started racing Stock Eliminator in fall of 1972 and it has been in Stock Eliminator since.

I bought my 68 Z/28 Camaro in March of 1968 and drove it to Fremont Drag Strip for grudge night. That was the beginning of a lot of drag racing. It has always been a stock eliminator car. It was not street driven until 1993, then just occasionally around town which was cool because it has 5.57 gears. Now the car is used mainly for the Hot Rod magazine Drag Week. It has a 69 DZ original motor with a Lunati RL302 cam, 4053 carb, T56 trans, Summers Bros spool and axles, 5.57 gears, ET Streets, original paint and interior. It's still a blast to drive. I would like to meet Ben Wenzel and Jerry MacNeish. I just realized this is my second reply. I must be getting old!
