Try Eric Pearson I think him and his dad could tell you what you want.

I've had both AMC 390 & AMC 360 pistons made for NHRA Stock. It's no big deal. Just send your OEM piston to the manufacturer you choose and they will take care of NHRA acceptance and approval. They will then send you your complete order. You won't get "bulk" discounting if you get a bunch of 290 racers together.
As far as who is REALLY interested in NHRA Stock accepted pistons, that would be EVERYBODY that is interested in competing in NHRA Stock! You can use factory pistons but you would be giving up a lot.

If you get a piston made, make sure you get into the hands of someone like Bruce Bachelder, or make sure you get a signed delivery reciept ! ....I sent a BRC 390 piston to Glendora several years ago, about the time Jim Skelly was moved to another position. .......Short story, after asking for the status on it's acceptance, it seems no one knows of it's existance !!.......... It's someones pencil holder, or door stop, and It was suggested I send another sample. !!...........Tom

Send your sample to CP, the other brands mentioned aren't much better than the slug you have now.

oh, i wasn't looking for a break on cost (but it wouldn't hurt) but it MIGHT make the mfgr a little more inclined t help if there was a bunch of us wanting some...
next question, who's paying cont. money?
just as well have a chance at getting some money back
but i wouldn't do it at the expence of inferior parts..
