Lets start by saying yes those mustangs are very fast, but now only one person can say they set the AA/SA record at a sea level track, they didn't. Racers like the Sorensens or De Armond or Shaul and there are others that have a car that was sold to the public and you could get registation and Lic. plates for, And have worked as hard as these people have to achieve what they have will always be a bigger achievement than doing what these guys did. What happened to everybody crying about Altutude corrected records or do we only cry when it happens out on the left coast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS, by the way my piston doesn't measure right so please change the spec. so i can pass tech. Thanks Any Racer?

GT/KA record was set by my 66 chevy II with a 283 and a powerglide. Some say the corretion is bogus but this same combo went 10.49 at earlville last year uncorreted. There is no difference from SS/LA and GT/KA same HP and index so just change the letters on the window. With the next hp hit this combo will no longer fit the 13 lb break { Thanks Alan} so I am going to have to run GT/JA next year due to the fact that I can not get the car down to the 12 lb break with out spending some dollars. Thanks Tom

I don't have a dog in this race but.
nhra had the wrong specs for pistons in my spirit. Made me pull a piston for a record setting. The dish height was off by .375. if their specs were right I would have to have been running diesel.
After taking the piston back to their motel for the night. They gave it back to me. Said they would check with California and let them make the call but I was not allowed to race.
In the end they gave me the record, but never gave me a dime back after not allowing me to compete.

So the Indy deal could have been legit

Soooo, if its about free trucks. No wonder GM cars have been doing so much winning. I knew there would be a real intelligent answer. Where did everyone bitch back in 1969 before the internet? Oh, they just kicked their dog. I see it clearly now.

FE Carman,
No it ain't about free trucks. It's ABOUT an OEM that openly admits that they designed these cars to cheat the nhra system and a lowly sanctioning body that is so hard up that they let them get away with it.

Bruce-

When did Ford openly admit that they built the Mustang to cheat NHRA's system? I'd like some facts, please.
