Im sure both cars were legal on weight--A complete nut wouldn't throw weight out in a final--But NHRA should have taken the few minutes for weight-fuel check-

I believe that both cars were legal in every way. It just seams so odd that with so much on the line NHRA would not take the time to at least weigh them? I can understand no fuel check, equipment put away etc. But weight? I still like the fact it was a heads up final and the cars were very closely matched.

This type of BS really spits in the eye of every racer that has to waste time being weighed and fuel checked on runs where the action is totally meaningless!!!!!

I do believe there was someone tossed (can't remember who) for being light in D-1 a couple of races ago....so it can be possible!

With out Scales or fuel check?, should have put shoe polish on the windows, useless exercise. If you are going to weigh and scale during qualifying, you should damn well do it during a heads up final.

Were either cars in the tear down barn ? I agree they weigh you all week and then on the final of the big one they let you go by, thats crazy. Im sure both cars are right but they still should have been checked.

I remember a national event where both the winner and the runner up in stock were tossed.

Come on guys , in case you did not here NHRA is more racer friendly now . The big boss is shaking hands and letting us no NHRA wants our money. Maybe no more weight checks is part of the new deal. Don't forget no tear down for the shootout cars as well. Congrats Brad on your big win you desevered it.
