In lieu of the AN4 bolt that Pegasus recommends, use either an MS21250-04016 or NAS6204-16. They are built to the latest specification and 3 times stronger than the AN4 bolt.

The bolts shown above and in the links below, have a 1.0" grip. depending on the diameter of the joint and the spacers, the length may vary.

You can use the AN365-428A nuts at the other end.

You can also procure the fasteners from Aircraft Spruce.

I like the ones with the safety wire holes drilled. I'm a little hesitant about buying those off of ebay. You never know, they could be Chinese knock offs.

Do you know a vendor that comes to mind?

I really appreciate the help. This makes me a whole lot more comfortable with this deal.

I have purchased from both vendors many times and they are aerospace surplus; the real thing.
Have used their bolts in my new Comp Super Modified.

This raises a the question: can I replace my entire steering column with an aftermarket column (Idit,or some other manufacturer ) or one from another model of car? I really could use a tilt column to ease getting into the car.
