I sandblast the bead areas of the rim and use no lube.

I did nothing to mine, but mount them dry. A little movement the first day, then they stay put.

Thank you guys so much, for the input. I went with "wiped clean and dry" and the slicks mounted nice and haven't budged. No tubes either and they're holding air very nicely!
