All cars will be permitted to run on the class minimum weight, but may be no heavier than the minimum for the next heavier class. Eric

One new class has been added (AA Front Wheel). Does that mean the rumor of the factory cars in their own class goes away?

i think the Max weight rule has been a long time coming. If you are heavy enough to run D/SA, you are D/SA, as long as the car fits that class, even if you did put C/SA on the sheet.
Also notice that now heim joint tie rods (bump steer kits) are legal now, after much heated debate.

Do I understand correctly that now "any" valve spring is permitted, including dual springs "provided no modification to head is performed."? But that removing the "step" on Mopar heads would be considered a "modification"?
IHRA usually follows NHRA. |

Did anyone notice that the "special production run, minimum of 50 units, need not be showroom available" is gone ?......I didn't see it where it usually is/was.....if it has been deleted.....what does that do to the Mustangs and DP's ????.....

Kevin, you should try to track down your 57 chevy s/stocker. I don't know how many of the older cars will be built (cost, availability, etc.) It might be a good change for the class, and for any fans of those cars. John gsa612

Hi my name is Shelby Hurley and I had previously wrote a letter to NHRA concerning a stocker rules change requesting the year limit cutoff to be pushed back to 1955 and posted it on classracer to discuss views on the situation. And I would like to thank everyone that supported the stockers rule change, those that wrote into NHRA, and NHRA itself for the change in the upcoming race season.
We were told by so many people that this would "Never" happen, however, my dad and I are both very excited that our 1955 Chevy Belair stocker can now run both IHRA and NHRA. Thanks Again! Shelby Hurley |
