Re: Napierville Labor Day
Saturday was really hot almost like epping
Everybody was able to do lots of time trials (10 for me) great for testing sun all day sunday well think of everything that can go wrong on a race day it did Big thunderstorm in the morning set us back with the water then the power was out for quite a while until the track hooked up a generator to have us run down de track The wheater stayed clear but it was far from over!! Saddly Eric Merryfield, crashed his car in the wall in the first tt, he was ok but the car took a good hit, hope you can get it fixed. Then when it was time for elemination the power was back but it broke the port-a-tree system, we had all rerun the 1st round, some guys went 325mph wowoww!!!! but we got it in late but in, thank to the track owners, all the sponsers and all the racers who had to use all the patience they add Congrats to Bob Horgan for the win 4000$ and a wally and Marc Labreque runner up Mat |

Re: Napierville Labor Day
Wow what a weekend ! I gotta tell ya if you havn't been here you gotta try it , I've never seen a more accomidating group of people . The north of the border gang at Napierville Dragway work there butts off , not just the track personel but the local racers that have a love for stock - super/stock racing . Like alot of D-1 races this year we've had rain , I mean down pour / lightning ! These guy's do more with less . We lost power they hauled out a portable generator to get the tower and tree running , got the top end lights working by jumping them of the track truck , dried the track with no more than a leaf blower and finally had to run eight mile because of equipment failure due to lightning ,WOW ! They invited all the racers into the tower to explain why we had to rerun the intire first round not just tell us their going to do it but take the time to explain why . We got the final in with lightning in the air . This was grass roots racing at it's best . We need to support are north of the border brothers . Cudo's to a job well done .
THANKS !! Marc LaBrecque ASRA |

Re: Napierville Labor Day
I drove straight through and got home around 2:00am. Border crossing was a breeze. I had a great time and got some "kinks" out of my new (to me) motor. Thanks to Pete and Tim Stickles for helping me diagnose my timing problem. Also thanks to Al Mark and Marc LaBrecque for putting on Saturday night's "feed". I enjoyed the down time spent with both old and new friends (and there was lots of down time!).

Re: Napierville Labor Day
Congratulations to Bob and Marc, sounds like the track was ready for anything, and did an outstanding job to get this race in. This sould mix the point up quite a bit, once I have a ladder we'll get the Shootout qualifiers figured out.
