Great. I tried to help.
Now we've got Mr. No Name pitting named racers against one another. You want me to see if I can get ol' H.P. to kill this thread like he did to the musclecar thread?

Named racers can only be pitted against each other if they take the bait and allow it. It's stink bait, just sniff it, and swim away.

Wow, some of you guys take this stuff way to serious, I guess I am just the guy that gives you that easy round win, but hey I have fun win or loose. Me and my Brother build our own stuff, this year I am going to put a .013 stroke crank, lighter rocker arms, tighter deck, and a new cam and hope to run .75 under will be happy. No funny stuff on the heads. Brother Bob has probably built more engines then most on this forum, a true machinist actually knows how to hold a micrometer, maybe not a horse power guru but his stuff stays together.

I have always believed that if you don't use your given name you shouldn't be able to post on this forum.
This opinion is not a criticism just an observation. Bubski makes some very good points but his anonymity is self-serving and all about stirring the pot and nothing more. For me that makes "Bubski" a coward and a colossal jerk. Bubski, don't go away mad, just go away. |

Actually CR is very civil. I left DRR because of two c l o w n s not kept in check. Its as if they are paid to stir up shyt.
They think - It's their job to generate clicks... You lost customers..Click! I don't have an issue with Bubski. He's been spot on quite a few times in my opinion. I don't run a 396 or a Dime Rocket so I really cannot complain about them. It is hard enough for me to keep up with my stuff. |

Yep absolutely but that is the way this class works. The 4th gen camaros and firebird LT1 and LS1 were so fast with those engines and the torque arm suspension bunch of folks built one..nobody could run beside them ...so NHRA created the F.I.classes. eventually they got so much HP they became natural "B" car right there with all the big block cars. There are very few 04 GTO, s out there so they manage to run under the NHRA radar. I have no problem with that. Its just the way the class works...but yes the LT1 F body's are over factored.

It's pretty much pointless to argue or whine here about who got the most "enhancements", or who has the most bogus HP rating. Nothing said here will get anything done. It simply creates division and strife.
The best thing that can be done about any of it is for the people who have to race directly against a combination(s) with "enhancements", and/or a bogus factor, to work on their own car, as much as possible, and as best they can, write letters to NHRA for a factor reduction for their combination, and try to push the "bogus" combinations to run hard enough, often enough, to get HP. That's how the system is supposed to work, and if they can play it, you can, too, if you want to, and you're willing to invest the time and effort. Drag racing, and Stock and Super Stock in particular, isn't really a hobby, if you really want to be successful, it's a way of life. As the late Ronnie Duke said often, "All it takes to drag race is time and money. All your time, and all your money." And literally, that's what the guys (and gals) who go fast spend. Like any other competition in life, if you're not making that commitment, you're just along for the ride. And hey, if you're just along for the ride, that's cool, there's nothing wrong with that. You're still contributing to the sport.Learn how to have fun where you're at. Just don't expect to be anything but along for the ride. To be brutally honest, I know that we're almost certain never to be the fastest, or be on top, unless we change cars, combinations, and spend way more money. None of which is likely to happen, since neither of us plays the lottery. But we'll work hard. and try to make anyone who outruns us earn it. And maybe get themselves a few ponies added to their factor.
