I need a new water pump drive, already got a brand new shorty aluminum pump and went to order the moroso kit..$177.00US???? WTH?? Used to be $79.00 last I looked, now close to $300Can for an electric motor and cogged belt?? Really??
I looked at SBF electric water pumps and they are $150.00 for the cheap and $600 for mezier or whoever. This thing only has 200hp or so, so the stock pump with kit will work, but what would people recommend? Is the no name electric water pump at Jegs or Summit any good? Or is there another drive kit available? I even tried to get the pulleys and belt seperately and can't. {{{{{{{Biggest question is, electric water pump or stock pump with electric drive?}}}}}}}} Last edited by goinbroke2; 03-03-2024 at 02:32 PM. |

All you need is the drive motor which is a blower motor and it’s available at any decent auto parts store. You just need the part number which I no longer have.

I would go electric pump, less to go wrong, no belt. And cleaner install.

The belt drive on a stock pump will get you around 5-10 GPM. Even the cheap electric pump will flow more like 20-35 GPM. But at 200hp the belt drive will likely work fine. The higher flowing pump would help you cool down between rounds faster.

Easy for me to spend your money but I would go with the Meziere pump.

![]() I think they are around $97. I would have to double check with the sales guys. I run our manufacturing facility and don't deal with the retail side. They are much better than the little 2 post motors though, in power and rpm. Curtis |

When I used the belt drive pumps, I would order the larger overdrive pulley.
Moroso or Mr. G ? Turns the pump faster. Of course it uses up more juice.
