I remember Tom Pauser (spelling) that ran out of Truppi/Kling back in the late 60's.
He had a 67 (i believe) Corvette & so did Bo Laws. They both ran the SP (sports Production class). I think B/SP Of course i didn't know what rules made these Corvette's run this class. I think they only had 9 inch tires.

I really don't recall if they had to run the hardtop or not but it is a Moot point if NHRA said OK to this new car..... Tom Pauser was nicknamed "Super Tom"....for his ability to drive a 4 speed and win with that Corvette. He was a very good racer and a good guy.... 9" tires were pretty big back then........7" tires on all Stock cars............. and an XS-11 was a real big tire..... I don't recall the tire rule for the Sports classes or in Street Eliminator..... Most cars with some power.....spun the tires off the line....and a good driver had to shift by how well the tires "recovered"......as it was called..... The Hedrick car was pretty much the most feared car around here. It was a 289 and could run about 3 different classes with just an induction change.... My good friend Jay Kalmus ran Street Eliminator and I was with him a lot during that era....We ran D/MP......and the Cobras were not cars we wanted to run......We did beat the Hedrick Car somehow at Island probably the last WCS race held there.....my guess....1968. We were trying to set the record and I think we ran right on it but could not exceed it......Mid 12's......

I was thinking the same thing? So it has a aftermarket AL body, with no top? Then I assume it has a completely fabricated frame with I assume a aftermarket Aframe front. But, is the entire frame Square or Rd tubing, like most FWD GT style cars? Does it have a rack and pinion? I am sorry to go on. I really do like the car but, just from the first picture I can't believe this style of car is in SS.
