My first thought when the home page came up was 'cool'. After getting the site going please consider nation wide. I'll pay for something like this.

I see the results have been posted on DRC as well so seeking clarification. Is Jim's new site intended to be a regional expansion of DRC's service and if other DRC reporters in other regions seek to provide comparable service they'll roll out similar sites to provide that service? Assume the respective regions/reporters will then solicit sponsorship for said service, hopefully being able to tap into sponsorship opportunities that have marketing strategies that align with those respective regions? Sure seemed simple when DRC was all you needed to bookmark to stay abreast of the action but with Summit's now limited DRC sponsorship I can see this as a viable substitute. Kudo's to Jim for his entrepreneurial spirit and web skills, just trying to figure out where this is all headed.

To clarify,

I am covering racing in the Northeast Division for the website I started. I had the idea a couple of years ago to start a site that would cover sportsman racing outside of the Lucas Oil points races that I covered for DRC. That would include the NHRA Open series, East Coast Stock and Super Stock, MASCA and MASGA and others. I always had it on the back burner because I was busy.

When I learned that we would not be covering the points races for DRC this year, I decided the time was right to launch the site. So about three weeks ago, I made the decision to go for it. That's why the site is still rough around the edges.

I am also making my reports available on DRC and that is what you are seeing today on that site. I am doing that because of my 13 years with DRC, my continuing work with DRC for NHRA national events and my hope that we can get sponsorship to resume covering sportsman racing as we have in the past. I also have a great relationship with the NHRA Northeast Division staff and that is making this easy to start.

I am covering the points races to help fill a void.My first allegiance for covering the LODRS points races is with DRC. NortheastDragRace.com was intended to cover racing the DRC did not cover. It was always intended as an addition to DRC, never to replace it. If we are able to resume full coverage of the points races on DRC, I will just link to it on my site, and do more coverage of other sportsman racing on NEDR.

This was done purely as my own initiative and should not be seen as representative as what could happen in any other division.

I hope that clarifies things. You can contact me at jim.samuel@gmail.com if you need anything else.

Thanks for the clarification Jim, I truly commend you for your initiative, skills, and desire to service the racing community. Your efforts are truly appreciated and as for "rough edges" that's what being on the leading edge is all about.

Nice to have another resource for instant information. Now I would like to know what's the story on the DQ's in S & SS?

Just got word that Stock and Super Stock second round just finished up and are done for the night. They will finish up in the morning. Comp is in the semi's tonight and will most likely run the final tomorrow. Alcohol is done, so tomorrow should go pretty fast, start time it 10 am.

Marion Stephenson in his J/SA 80 Cutlass hit the wall in the second round just past the finish line. Marion is okay, and was racing SS in the second round. No word on what happened or how bad the car is.
