I would guess that we have the least H.P. and they can send us with the
least chance of an incident. We then provide a better tractioned and warm track for the cars following us. We are then followed by cars based on traction requirements and risk assessment. J.R. |

Somebody has to go first. Used to be Super Street at the races they were at. Probably more to do with not running classes back to back that have to weigh and check fuel. |

Because the crybaby throttle stop classes say it unsafe for them to go out
By the way stock has cars going 170 mph on 9 inch tires

Nah, it’s because the “fans” have packed the stands by 8:00am to see stock eliminator.
and stock has more than a few turds that can’t run 100mph too.

[QUOTE=Chuck Weissberg;707501]Would've preferred stock not to have been the first out at Maple Grove this past October, our class was running 8.10s, and it was still in the 40s at 9am. But we know going in that we're first up, just have to plan accordingly.

I actually appreciate the perspective here. I have no sympathy for folks trying to go 175+ in SG trim that complain they can't get down on a marginal track, or factory stockers trying to go 140+ on a 9 inch tire. That's your choice, figure it out.
