Live from the NHRA 50th Winternationals - Page 5

In under an hour we'll get our third and final Q- shot and even with Irv Johns on the pole at this moment the talk last night was that several would like to step up and take it away - not an easy task when the nearest racer to him is a solid tenth behind .Weather this morning is about the same sa yesterday - 55 degrees -62% humidity - 29.06 barometer - final DA 1256 -- the Sun hasn't burned thru yet but should before we get out on the track .

On to racing stuff - the big topic at dinner last night -- with the new Challengers in the spotlight at this years Winters everyone is asking where are the Mustangs ? After the great year they had here last year one would think they'd be back but not one in attendance .......hmmmmm .On top of that I thought for sure there would be at least one new Camaro here -- maybe in S/S or Comp --- even one of the.90 classes but nothin'.

Got a boatload of pics but am having some camera issues but I'll get it fixed .....soon ! ! !

Ship some of that weather easbound. For criss sakes there's a foot of snow on the ground this morning. IN FORT WORTH TEXAS!!!!!!!!

As promised weather was pretty much the same but a bunch of cars will move up because this morning they didn't spin like the first run yesterday .Being the last car to go down I didn't get to see much other than Wayne Totaro found his problem and scooted to a high 10thirty and will move up considerably . S/S up soon ...............

Love the type 3 vw slant back in s/s in Beth's pictures didnt know that v-dubs were in the guide ,always wanted one I guess I'll have to build a super stocker then.

First round of Stock complete -- looked to be .02 to .003 slower -- but it was a spin fest for sure -- and in both lanes -- bald spots everywhere -- when I can spin in that tank of mine -- well you got to know its not terrific .............

2010 Camaro isn't in the classification guide so it would be really interesting to see one is S/S. Would have to be Gracia's kid or a Nascar driver or something.....

Call me partial but all six ( Iacono , Shaul , MacKay ,Perrone , Totaro and myself ) from D1 made it past first round ...........yippee ! ! !
