Default Class pushed back at Indy Nats for Jegs Brackets?

Ive been racing at the US Nationals since 1987. The Holy Grail of STOCK SUPER STOCK racing was STOCK class running on Thursday and SuperStock running on Friday with three hits Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Then they decided to run the jegs All-Star (another bracket race) because of the Joliet situation. Jegs in Ohio right? Sports Nationals is in Ohio right? Why don't they run the Jegs allstars where Jegs is centrally located at Columbus and leave the US Nationals alone? Does this bother anybody else? Seems like we keep getting pushed further back and back and back!

If you were part of the Coughlin clan would you want your special brand series put on before dozens of spectators or thousands? The All-Star race will probably stay at Indy regardless if Joliet comes back on the National Schedule in the future. Personally, if I lived in D6/D7 it would definitely be harder for me to tow to Columbus vs. to Indy and possibly scratch something off my bucket list at the same time.

Never should have made it to Indy to start with! It used be at Columbus when it was TRW then Federal-Mogul. If you have any problem with your race car, you have very little time for repairs.

I thought Jegs was sold to a business group. Do the Coughlins have anything to do with it anymore?

An equity company purchased majority ownership of Jegs earlier this year but it was my understanding the Coughlins are still involved in operations and the influx of cash was for expansion. Either way, big money talks and having the All Stars on the biggest stage would have to be in their best interest so I’ll leave it up to you which way the NHRA suits will go.

Personally, I buy my stuff from Summit.

In the end we have no say, other than to participate or not. It’s pretty disappointing not to have the old format. The Jegs Allstars is for a few to compete to make their dreams come true.

Class at Indy was the chance for everyone to
chase a performance dream on the biggest stage. Now it’s a brief afternoon in front of no one.

S/SS class runs headsup invented NHRA. Its why the factory Showdown cars are so popular. They'd be even more popular if one brand was not favored monetarily over another and an even playing field was set in order to promote competition instead of handing it over to whoever bankrolls that particularly year. Brand rivalry and S/SS showdowns invented n h r a.
I guess I'm a dinosaur wanting to keep S/SS Class Runs intact, instead of pushing them out of the lime light four bracket racing agendas.
