If a car leaves straight but continues to drive left or right...it is possible the rear is not square in the chassis. It will drive in the direction the rear is pointed. Measure the left side and right side from the rear wheel centerline to the front wheel centerline. It takes some doing to get a good accurate measurement but it might be your problem. I always used cotton string and bascially copy what a wheel alignment machine does with light beams, only I use the string......Most cars want to drive right on the launch and go straght after that. Dragsters usually go straight though. Maybe the rear was out of the car and the bars were misadjusted........I'm no chassis expert, but I've had a lot of cars and most of them were pretty much home built and set up at home by me......

Is the roll-out (circumference) the same on the both rear slicks? I have had brand new sets that were way off. If one is larger that will influence the car as it goes down track. Ideally if it is consistantly pushing left, the right rear tire is probably larger than the left.
