Default Srac

Just a quick note to let you Guys know, I have resigned from the SRAC. At the beginning of our committe it looked as we would make a difference by representing what you the racers asked for, but about middle of the year, our reccomendations meant nothing any more, as everything we ask for was turned down. I enjoyed talking with you guys and trying to get your request handled, but all our committee was doing was wasting time sending in your request as they were being vetoed by the Tech Department. What we were told in the beginning was the way it was for about 5 months and then it was like we were just agrivating them, so if you are in Division 2, there is a vacancy if you would like this position. I wish you guys luck and hopefully one of these days the racers will have a say in our future!

Thank you very much for your effort Woodro, I have no doubt you did your best, and that is all that we could ask.

Unhappy Re: Srac

You can only beat your head against a wall for just so long Woody! Thanks for putting up with it for this long. I wonder how long the others will stay on. They all are a smart bunch of guys and I'm sure they have figured it out also. Jim

Nice try Woodro......Now you know a little of what I went thru in dealing with the Top Stock issues a few years ago with IHRA. Its to bad that the stock and S/S racers can not be the masters of thier own destiny... up to a point. But then its almost like letting the inmates take charge of the nut house....lol.

Woodro, NHRA is missing out on the opportunity to have direct contact with their customers by ignoring the stated purpose of the SRAC itself. I haven't had dealings with all SRAC members, but you and Greg Hill are among those that have the experience and intentions to better the sportsman racing experience. It is clear that there is a tremendous desire to support class racing in difficult times by the racers themselves. I guess if NHRA has not the vision to see value in experience, we should all be looking toward organizing more local efforts like Heartland, etc. to support our local tracks. All the VPs in Glendora will have to get some jobs elsewhere if they continue to ignore the racers that would race if they were given any support at all. Thanks Woodro.

Wink Re: Srac

Woodro thank you for all you did. Also sorry to hear but sometime what the mass wants is not what the "higher-ups" want to hear! No 1 in the pits will look down their noses @ you that's for sure!

To all of my division 3 racers I wanted to let you know I also have resigned from the SRAC for the same reasons as Woodro. It basically was a waste of time and energy because at the end of the day we had no say in what happened. When one person can decide what the rules should be, how they are enforced and when they are enforced there is no reason for an organization like the SRAC. I do want to say that Bob Lang and Jay Hulinger were good to work with however others In NHRA did not have the best interest of racers at heart. I also enjoyed the time this past year talking to a lot of racers and trying top help them with issues they felt were important.

I truly believe nothing is ever going to change at NHRA until two things happen. First is true racer input and second is transparency in the rules making process. Thanks again to all my friends and racers who were supportive during the past year.
