...."Although technically the slowest class in NHRA competition, Stock eliminator is also one of the most competitive. Ironically, the quickest Stock eliminator cars are now running well into the nine-second zone, which is just as quick as Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins and Ronnie Sox ran in NHRA's first-ever Pro Stock final at the 1970 Winternationals in Pomona. Stockers rock ! Definitely one of my favorite classes, second only to Pro stock in my book.
