Default 2013 2.9L Super Cobra Jet Crash at Cecil County

Think it was a charity race / track rental this last weekend. The in-car really shows how LONG he stayed in it and got back into it with the wheels turned when it came down...glad he was okay and the safety equipment did it's job! Hats off to Jesse Kershaw and Ford Racing for their work on designing a good cage!

Don't agree with the "Entertaining" comment on the end of the video. Watch it in 480p resolution. He was still on it after crossing the centerline!

I am sorry to see any race car damaged like this. Just glad to see no one was hurt. As i see it, seems that there is way too much power for these cars running on the 9" tire. These cars should be running on 12" tires and even running in Super Stock. A lot of guys will not agree with that comment.

Take a look at the in car video, you can see and tach and hear the engine get to the point of no return. The driver stayed in it way too long. This is just my opinion. We all have made runs that we should have aborted.

The track prep may have played a roll into the mishap. I have been on tracks at test N tunes and the back half of the track is not sprayed. You will leave the line normally and 3rd and 4th gear the car gets real loose. Data system will confirm way too much tire spin.

Seems he turned the steering wheel to the right when he was in the air. That surely didn't help.

He was turning the steering wheel like he was making a right turn and he was still in the air

Plenty of tire......The guys racing in the "heads up" world are running 26 x 8.5 tires with well over 1500HP.

How did that car lift the front end like that? My experience level is low in cars like this but that really surprised me. I didn't think the small blower cars would do that. If I was driving I would have bailed as soon as I started seeing the sky through the windshield.

X2. It amazes me how out of touch some people within our sport are about how fast and consistent others are running on a small tire in the heads up/outlaw world.
