Good Morning All,
As most of you wake up this morning and turn on the TV, you can see a major hurricane is about to make landfall around the Louisiana / Texas border, the storm will move inland and eventually make it's way across the mid-west and right into our area for.....you guessed it the weekend!!! Right now Saturday looks to be the main area of concern with the storm and Sunday looks to be clear. I've been looking at a few different weather maps to see where the storm is projected to hit and it looks like right now, it is to be below the Reading, Pa line (More MD / DE area) but, they are calling for scattered storms and more widespread after 1pm but, some could become severe after 4pm but, we've all been to Maple Grove and know how it sits in the Valley it seems to attract rain or pushes it away. If we are able to dodge the bullet there is a good chance we could go to 1 time shot on Saturday and set the fields so we can make a valiant effort to get Race # 7 completed. We will need EVERYONES full cooperation to get this race completed, so when called, get to the lanes, be paired up with your partner your racing at the trailer, no lollygagging in the back of the lanes. We've been lucky so far this year to have 6 races completed and we know weather can always play a factor in our racing season that’s why we give 4 throw aways. I know some will complain that points are on the line, etc. etc but, do we want to try to race or make time runs all day and be mad because the race was cancelled after only a few rounds? I will keep a monitor on the weather in the next 36 hours and have a final decision by Thursday Night! Thank you all for the support! |

Going to make this short and sweet since I know a few of you will be hitting the road early to arrive at Maple Grove by 4pm on Friday. Right now Saturday looks to be the main area of concern with the storm, some weather maps say rain all day, others say some storms later in the evening and others say 30%-40%. I spoke with Maple Grove this morning and we decided to hold off till Saturday Morning to make a call on Saturdays racing....with the ever changing forecast, I'll be honest I don't think the weather men know where this storm is going. Sunday looks to be clear so we should be able to get at least one race in.
The plan of action is, and IF we do race Saturday but, it will be ONE time shot and go for us. I feel if we can at least maybe get to the Semis or even Finals of the Race, we can always roll them over to Sunday to finish but, all depends on how much we get done with your corporation. The finals and semi's are the only races I will transfer over, if it rains at 3rd or 4th round the race is finished and we'll figure out points from there on. To make this all happen We will need EVERYONE to be on board with this, when called to the lanes...you roll, when you find out your opponent...pair up and roll up with them, no lollygagging in the back of the lanes, it's a tight time frame but, if we have a window I think we can get it in. If Saturday is a wash it will be a day to rest, relax, eat and tell war stories with each other and wait till Sunday, Hope to see you all there this weekend! Rob K 856-332-2851 |
