I put Hoosier 29” tires on my car and it was a close fit. I made some easy check out passes and the tires rubbed the paint on the inside fender lip. (They’re rolled some but maintain stock outward appearance)
At only 116mph the tires grew enough to make contact but it didn’t get too hot to damage the paint on the outside edge. I’m worried a full pass will damage the paint so I ordered a smaller 28” bias tire that clears easily and won’t rub. Am I giving up ET with the small tire? Hoosier makes a 30” radial (that specs around 29.5” tall) I’ve read that the radials don’t grow but I would be squeezing it in. I assume the radials would be a little quicker but is there a chance on some growth or getting a set thats taller than the listed height of 29.5”? (The new tires actually measure a little under 28”). Thanks

I can run the 30x9 radials but didn’t want to spend the money on them without some comments if they truly are no growth? The smaller tires get me out to the track for TnT purposes so I can sort out the car. I may be stuck with them so I would be curious how much ET I might be giving up.

If you are truly serious about Stock eliminator you need to run the 30 x 9 radial. Your competitors are !!! That 92 or 94 inch radial is a crucial part of the combination which includes rear gear and first gear trans ratio. Perhaps you could find a set of used ones to try ? My personal opinion is that the radial will not grow going down the track …
