Am I wrong. You can't set a record at a National Open, right?

It depends on what division you are in. I was told no this year and this was with over a month before the race. I was not the only one wanting to set a record.

My advice is to contact the division office prior to the race. Thats what we did when setting the record in 2019. Then there are no surprises.
I was pitted next to someone last weekend with a bad fast car wanting to set a record and he was told it was not happening. It was cool to see the circled R on the windows, and someone wanting to set a record. It is not all that common to see anymore. I give credit to anyone that wants to set a record. Its a lot of work, and no recognition. Sean

. I agree, but I always got a lot of "Self Satisfaction" for all the hours putting the car and engine together and testing...Test the car and pull the engine and go back to the dyno.. Pull the heads and go to the flow bench and then put it all back together...
