if these cars are factory experimental i think the factory failed the experiment.i payed 25k for a body in white and a engine that kicks rods above 6 grand and 20k for a tag on the strut tower.
i bet if you got a 68 hemi cuda from the dealer you could race it that night. this is my thought on these cars.....a joke |

Could somebody answer the question on why a Dodge Challenger ( showroom stock , streetable, complete, driveable as delivered with a VIN number) was never submitted to the NHRA by Chrysler . Why would you submit half a car that has nothing to do with what they are selling in the showroom and submit a HP rating so low that nobody believed it but NHRA. And NHRA puts it in STOCK !!!!!!! WHO IS REALLY RESPONSIBLE ?

Fact is I could have bought a 1968 Hemi Dart off the showroom floor. Black primer paint and everything. It was a 4 speed car if I remember correctly. There maybe a lot more CJ's and 440-6 packs and 427 Camaros than were produced.....BUT at least these guys "cloned" a production vehicle that was available in the showroom. Any car that is NOT available in the showroom should not be called a stocker........period!!!!!!!
This bastardizing of the rules is exactly how we got to were we are today. The factorys should have a place to race their super special, one off creations. Factory involvement is critical to the on going health of stock eliminator, but to call these DP/CJ's stockers is insane! It seems to me that the term Factory Experimental hits the nail on the head! (or close enough for our purposes). Why does NHRA seem to hate the idea of F/X? The factories rallyed around F/X back in the '60's, why not now?
