Oh yes....He is on the list. I worked with him in 1974 in NHRA. He is top notch also. Now where did I put that power ball ticket I just bought?

It says right there in their rules that you can't give any of NHRA's upper management a ride.

"Never transport passengers whose judgment may be impaired".

Yeah, it's much better to let the drunks wander around the pits than to give them a ride back to the motorhome so they can safely sleep it off! Jim

pretty sure bicycles count ... they make you register it and have a decal on it it counts... so be ready to get fined on your bicycle too...

im sure they need some $$$$$$$$ to defend against these horrific accusations with the IRS... therefore THERE WILL BE FINES, lots of them, so keep you golf cart at home and your ticket in your pocket cause they need $$$$$ and we are thier best source of $$$$$$$

still sore over a $500 ticket fine 2 years ago cause my buddy picked up the wrong ticket at 6am and was headed for a port-a-can...

This rule is at least two years old, are you guys just figuring it out now?

Yes it is ridiculous. I haven't been to very many nationals, but the few I have, were all under this stupid rule.

I rode a bicycle from the fan parking everyday because you only get one pit parking sticker, and my dad gets the pit parking pas. I did not put my one pit vehicle sticker on the bike, and I did not have insurance. I entered through the racer gate every morning and left every evening, nobody bothered me. While in the pits I had a borrowed pit bike with the pit vehicle sticker, and no insurance. I did use it for some 'joyriding' so to speak. Nobody bothered me. This was in Seattle.

I also had a similar experience in Pomona.

So while it is dumb, it's not very well enforced.

Last year at Topeka NHRA impounded all the pit vehicles they could find without stickers on them in the staging lanes.
Several people thought theirs had been stolen only to find they were impounded.
To get the pit vehicle back you had to show up with a sticker or pay a fine.
My friends wife who had driven the golf cart to the staging lanes had to walk back to the trailer. He had the sticker but did not put it on the golf cart. He was in trouble with more than just NHRA, but did get the golf cart back by showing up with the sticker.
It was funny but not really, if you have been to Topeka and know how far the staging lanes are from the Sportsman parking lot.
