Details for the Tilburg Racing Engines Shoot-out race:
1. Open to Can-Am members only. 2. $500 to win, winner takes all. No entry fee. 3. Top 8 cars qualified based on the lowest aggregate reaction times from the first two qualifiers of Saturday’s race. A fun race thanks to Brian Tilburg Racing Engines. FJ |

Re: St Thomas Dragway - Races 6 and 7
Had a great weekend, the track was awesome. Best 60's the car has ever posted. Too bad it rained on the barbque, it would have been cool to meet and mingle with more of the HotRod guys i haven't met yet.
I got some photos from saturdays race from the track photographer and have attached below, Bob Parks is so excited imagine what would have happened if he'd won!, i will definatley be at the photo session to watch if he wins one of the up and coming races! Thanks for the Champane Bottle! Congrat's to Tom Simon and Tony Valario for taking home the DILTS PISTON HYDRAULICS number one qualifier free entry Thanks again for the great series and fierce competition. Ian Hill 362 68 camaro crate motor. |

Re: St Thomas Dragway - Races 6 and 7
This past weekend marked our return to St Thomas Dragway and the roots of our Can-Am series.
The Fletchers, track manager, Jay Morse and crew had the track in spotless condition, with not a stone or blade of grass out of place. In short order, the track hooked like the old days and we were ready to race. Saturday saw a beautiful hot sunny day and 38 cars racing. After 6 rounds of competitive racing, Ian Hill's crate motored '68 Camaro bested Bob Park's GT/EA Camaro for the win. Also Saturday, was a featured 8 car shoot-out race of the 8 best reaction time qualifiers. This race was in honour of Tim Thorne and was sponsored by Tilburg Racing Engines and Rob Carpenter and Kim Ferrie. After three quick rounds, Jamie Wildgoose won over Rob Becker. A joint TNT / Can-Am barbeque followed the races and even the rain didn't dampen the social times. Sunday morning greeted us with a light shower, but John Fletcher and the track crew worked hard and quickly dried the track so we could race our second race. After 5 rounds, Victoria Smith's GT/AA 2005 Sunfire was victorious over Tony Valerio's '68 crate motored Camaro. The joint TNT / Can-Am race was an unqualified success judging by the many comments of both the racers and St Thomas Dragway staff. Thanks to the Fletchers for inviting us back to race. And "hats off" to the staff , who did a great job both with the track condition and running the races. We look foreward to returning to race at St Thomas Dragway. The Labour Day Nationals, our next two points races, is fast approaching. As in the past, a barbeque, special draws and awards will be included. Details will follow. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FJ |
