The Edelbrock 383-440 Mopar heads are the same as the Mopar "452"aluminum heads Mopar sells thru MP.They are made for Mopar by Edelbrock, and are legal for S/S.The 2012 Flyer has a part number and says they are legal heads. The Edelbrock heads typically are cheaper price wise than the Mopar 452 aluminum heads.

The Eddy and 452 Mopar heads have 2.14 I and 1.81 E valves whereas the OEM iron head are 2.08 I and 1.74 E.

Neither one of these heads would work for somebody running a '66 383 combo, would they? 2.08 in. but the little 1.60 ex. (like the early "915")

If the Mopar 452 head is listed in the engine guide for the 1966 383 S/S combo, then it is legal.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did this B_ _ L S_ _ T come from????????? First roller rockers and now this! I'm beginning to think the manufacturers are winding up NHRA, the whiners and the cry babies! Just what we need in this economy more unneeded expense.
I'm sure Farmer is rolling over in his grave?

How is it an unneeded expense? You don't have to run them, AND in my case in Superstock (if I ran superstock, not stock)it would be Cheaper to buy a set rather than have a set built. I just checked all years of smallblock Ford included (64-81) and can't find a single year or model the Edelbrocks are allowed in Stock, SS only. Others have Stock availability, such as 352, 390, 428, from what I can see.
