Robert Schlegelmilch's pristine 57 Chevy F/MP car getting ready to make a pass. Looking at the side of the car and you can see the reflection of cars in the staging lanes.

How do I post a video from youtube on here, or can someone add the video to this forum for all of us to enjoy.. In youtube search type in Thunder Valley and Sioux City Dragway Early Days, alot of the cars in the Sioux City Dragway part of the video are shown on this forum to include the John Hagen Baracuda pictured above. Very cool to see thses cars racing on the track

Thanks, Bill
This car sounds familiar, let me do some digging...I'm not sure which track this is though.

Where was the track located? I went to school in Omaha in the 80s but didn't realize there was ever a track there.

It was along Hwy.50, just North of Sapp Bros. truck stop about a half mile at Giles Rd. By the 80s it had been replaced by Watkins concrete block plant. I'm still a little bitter that I was born too late to enjoy this place!
Looking through those records, I see some familiar names...Bichlmeier, Wayne Lewis, Eddie Rezac, Vern Moats, etc.

Some more pics courtesy of Kim Schlegelmilch. Kim's Dad raced a 57 chevy at Cornhusker.

Nice cars...nice times! Looks like the place might have closed...late '70's?...based on the equipment on the cars....Why did it close...noise?
