The fastest car would be logical, but if you read the rules about the other sportsman classes they get to choose the lane based on performance and also get byes when qualifying number one. This is why I would think it would be the logical thing to do, if you car is fast, you get rewarded for your performance.
I am all on board if the rule is to flip, so be it I will flip. |

IHRA did have the better qualified car gets lane choice rule up to a few years ago.They changed it to the coin flip also.

I doubt they'll change it. But it might help the sandbagging a bit.

A staging lane guy once told me that if anyone has problems with someone wanting to flip for lanes, they want to know about it. Seems they have long memories... if you get my drift.
